This is an image of a 1930�s Buick flying lady hood ornament. The hood ornament of hood mascot as it�s called by some was the pinnacle of art deco styling on cars of the day. The styling of the cars from the 30s-50s were things of imagination a view of the modern times and modern styling. The flying lady or flying goddess, in some models of hood ornament, illustrated America�s love with the automobile. Cars significantly impacted life and travel in America.

Typically the more ornate the hood ornament the more expensive the vehicle, however this is not always true. This specific hood ornament was on a 1932 Buick model 67. In and by itself the car is rather rare and the hood ornament is rare as well. It was manufactured during the great depression (1929-1939). The car and hood ornament was manufactured while the great depression was in full swing. There were 8000 Buick model 67�s built in 1932 and the average base price was $1,233.00.
