Description
This is an image of a Chevy 210. The Chevy 210 or two-ten is the mid-line model for Chevy in 1957. The vehicle was available with most of the amenities that the Bel-Air was but the investment significantly less than the Bel-Air. At first glance the 210 or even the less expensive entry model 150 looks nearly identical to a Bel-Air.
The motor trans configurations for the 1957 Two-Tens were:
Engines
235 in "Blue Flame" I6 rated at 140 hp (104 kW).
265 in "Turbo-Fire" OHV V8 rated at 162 hp (121 kW).
283 in "Super Turbo-Fire" OHV V8 rated at 185 hp (138 kW).
283 in "Super Turbo-Fire" OHV V8 with 4 barrel carburetor rated at 220 hp (164 kW)
283 in "Super Turbo-Fire" OHV V8 with dual 4 barrel carburetors rated at 270 hp (201 kW)
283 in "Super Turbo-Fire" OHV V8 with Rochester Ram-Jet fuel injection rated at 283 hp (211 kW)
Transmissions
3-speed Synchromesh manual
3-speed Synchromesh manual with overdrive unit
2-speed Powerglide automatic
Turboglide variable-speed automatic
This particular vehicle was outfitted with a blue flame inline 6 and a 2 speed power glide automatic transmission. This vehicle was painted two tone India ivory and Larkspur blue. And is a 2 door coupe (4 door varieties were also available. There were 162,090 Chevy 210 sedans produced with the inline 6 motor.
For a Chevy collector a 210 is a necessary addition to their collection, the bonus is they are not overly rare for the base vehicles and parts are not that difficult to find as opposed to some of the rarer vehicles Chevy and GM has produced over the years. This was a beautifully restored vehicle.
