The 1972 Ford Ranchero was part of the fifth generation of Ranchero models produced by Ford between 1970 and 1979. This generation of Ranchero was built on the same platform as the Ford Torino, and it featured a number of updates and changes from the previous generation.

One notable feature of the 1972 Ford Ranchero was its styling. This model year featured a redesigned front end with a larger grille and a more prominent hood scoop, giving it a more aggressive look. Additionally, the 1972 Ranchero featured a revised interior with more comfortable seats and improved sound insulation, making it a more comfortable and refined ride.

Another notable feature of the 1972 Ford Ranchero was its engine options. This model year was available with a variety of engines, including a 351 Cleveland V8, a 429 Cobra Jet V8, and a 351 Windsor V8, giving buyers a range of power and performance options to choose from.
