Artist's Description

North American aviation SNJ-4 is one plane with many designations. The US Army Air Corps named it AT-6, The US Navy named it SNJ, British Commonwealth named it Harvard, and in 1948 the US Air Force named it T-6. The primary difference, the engine and voltage upgrade. The SNJ5's were recieved by the navy, directly from the US army Air Corps. The airplanes went into millitary service in 1935 and were retired in 1995 by the South African Air Force. With its Navy designation its a SNJ-4.
