This is an image of a barn owl (Tyto alba) eating a small bird. In the raptor group owls are the slowest flying birds in the group. They typically eat small animals and other small birds. The barn owl are typically active at night, this aids in their hunting and makes up for their slow flying. Although slow compared to many other raptor birds they are rather silent in flight. Barn owls do not Hoot like many other owls rather they make a screeching noise.
