Description
This is an image of great falls from the top of the waterfalls. If you date take the trek up the 30 degree hillside covered in sharp moss-covered granite and limestone rocks this is view you will see. It is slippery and hazardous but the view is amazing. with one slip I cut my leg from my knee to my ankle but made it to the top, did some first aid, and shot this spectacular view.
The Great falls waterfall in Rockingham Co is located on Little Carr Creek behind Great falls mill. It was a natural waterfall that had a dam built around it to power the cotton textile mill there. The mill was originally built in 1833, burnt down by sherman during the civil war, rebuilt in 1869, and then burned again in 1972. The ruins of the mill remain and are in front of the waterfall.
