The P51-mustang was produced by North American Aviation and was a single seat long range fighter-bomber. The P-51 was used in WWII and the Korean War along with several other conflicts. The plane was brought into duty in January 1942 and was officially retired from all branches of millitary service worldwide in 1984. The Dominican Republic was the last air force in the world to retire the planes from active millitary duty. This specific plane was named "swamp fox".
