The history of Pacific Power can be traced back to the early 20th century when a number of small electric companies were established in the Pacific Northwest. In the 1920s, these companies began to merge and consolidate, eventually forming what is now Pacific Power.
One of the most notable aspects of Pacific Power's history is the company's use of a mascot called "Reddy Kilowatt." Reddy Kilowatt was a cartoon character who was created in the 1920s to promote the use of electricity. He was depicted as a little man with a light bulb head and lightning bolt arms and legs. Reddy Kilowatt quickly became a popular symbol of electricity and was used by many electric companies throughout the United States.
