In the late 1800s, Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist from New Bern, North Carolina, began experimenting with creating his own soft drinks as a way to offer a refreshing and appealing beverage to his customers. He initially called his creation "Brad's Drink."
Creation of Pepsi-Cola (1893):
In 1893, Caleb Bradham officially renamed his drink "Pepsi-Cola." The name was derived from the word "dyspepsia," meaning indigestion, and the kola nuts used in the recipe. The drink was intended to help with digestion.
Early Marketing and Expansion (Early 1900s):
Bradham started bottling and distributing Pepsi-Cola, focusing on the quality of his product. He used the tagline "Exhilarating, Invigorating, Aids Digestion" to market the drink.
