Rexall Drug Stores was a chain of drug stores that operated in the United States and Canada from the early 1900s to the 1980s. The chain was known for its high-quality products and innovative marketing campaigns.
The first Rexall store was opened in 1903 in Boston, Massachusetts by Louis Liggett, who had previously worked for drugstore chain Cutler Bros. Liggett believed that by manufacturing his own products and selling them under the Rexall brand name, he could offer customers a superior product at a lower price.
The Rexall brand became known for its high-quality products, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and personal care items. The company also developed a number of innovative marketing campaigns, such as its "One Cent Sale" promotions, which offered customers the chance to buy one item at full price and get a second item for just one cent.
