Rising Sun Flour was a brand of flour that was once popular in the United States. The history of Rising Sun Flour can be traced back to the late 19th century when the flour miller George R. Lyon established a flour milling company in Kansas City, Missouri. Lyon's company was called the Lyon-Brand Milling Company, and it was one of the largest flour mills in the world at the time.
In 1889, Lyon's company began producing a new type of flour that was marketed under the name "Rising Sun Flour." The flour was advertised as being made from the finest quality wheat and was said to produce excellent results in baking. The name "Rising Sun" was chosen to evoke the idea of a new day and a new beginning.
