Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., commonly known as Pioneer, is a seed company based in Johnston, Iowa, USA. The company was founded in 1926 by Henry A. Wallace, an agricultural pioneer and future U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Here is a brief history of Pioneer seed company:
1920s: In 1926, Henry A. Wallace founded the Hi-Bred Corn Company in Des Moines, Iowa, to develop hybrid corn seeds that were more productive and resistant to disease. The company's first hybrid corn variety, Pioneer, was released in 1927 and quickly became popular with farmers.
1930s: In the 1930s, Hi-Bred Corn Company continued to develop new corn hybrids, as well as hybrids for other crops such as soybeans and sorghum. The company also expanded its sales and distribution network, establishing offices and warehouses across the United States.
1940s: During World War II, Hi-Bred Corn Company shifted its focus to military production, producing seed...
